In the final days of legislative session, we need you now more than ever! Please take a moment to make three calls to your lawmakers and Governor Dayton (scripts below). Where we live impacts every area of our lives — and our lawmakers need to hear that! Lawmakers have many decisions to make in the last few days of session, and so you will likely receive a few more Homes for All calls to action, potentially over the weekend as well as later this week. Your advocacy is crucial to our success. Thank you for your effort throughout session — especially in this crunch time.
Three easy steps to take action:
- Contact your Senator (click here to find who represents you)
- Contact your Representative (click here to find who represents you)
- Contact Governor Dayton (click here to fill out an email or (651) 201-3400)
Script to guide your emails/calls to your lawmaker:
Hello [your Senator/Representative],
My name is [your name] and I live in [your city]. As a Homes for All supporter, I'm calling in the last days of session to urge your strong support of critical housing investments across Minnesota.
In addition to the $50M set-aside for permanent supportive housing for Minnesotans with behavioral health needs included in the Senate bonding bill, please work with leadership and your colleagues on the conference committee to increase Housing Infrastructure Bonds to $50M and increase the General Obligation bonds for public housing preservation to $30M.
Also, please ensure that Homework Starts with Home, Lead Poisoning Prevention Act, and Manufactured Housing Infrastructure is included the final supplemental omnibus spending package.
Where we live impacts everything. Please make housing a priority as you make your final decisions this session. Thank you!
